Through the Style Network reality show, Kimora: House of Fab, online retail giant JustFab takes viewers behind the scenes of this fashion-forward company. In this conversation with the staff of Aicube, the team at JustFab explains the appeal of Kimora: House of Fab.
Aicube: Thanks for joining us! Please give our readers a little background on JustFab.
JustFab: JustFab was launched in 2010 by Co-CEOs Don Ressler and Adam Goldenberg. With a background in ecommerce, they decided to break the mold of traditional online retail and create a more personalized shopping experience for women.
Aicube: How does JustFab work?
JustFab: Members take a survey of their personal style, then, JustFab stylists use that information to handpick shoe, handbags and accessories just for that shopper. VIP members can purchase one of the items in their personal boutique for just $39.95 each month. The VIP subscription is a pretty good deal for shoppers who want to look great, but don’t want to spend a fortune.
Aicube: How did JustFab jump from online retailer to reality television?
JustFab: JustFab has become one of the fastest growing online businesses over the past 3 years, and the team that puts it all together is quite a cast of characters.
Aicube: Getting into realty television is difficult, isn’t it? How did you make it happen?
JustFab: It was thanks to Kimora Lee Simmons. For those who don’t know her, Kimora Lee Simmons has been a model and extremely successful businesswoman for many years. She had her own reality show in the past that highlighted her personal and family life. Kimora Lee Simmons is painfully gorgeous, totally focused, and is a huge personality that everyone loves to watch. When she joined JustFab in 2011, it seemed like the perfect next step.
Aicube: What is the premise of the Kimora: House of Fab show?
JustFab: Kimora: House of Fab is a day-in-the-life show about the inner-workings of a fashion retailer. Cameras follow JustFab staff through new product development, challenges, triumphs, and personal struggles. With Kimora Lee Simmons as the President and Creative Director of JustFab, she plays a big role in the show, as do other JustFab staff members.
Aicube: Tell readers about some of the other cast members.
JustFab: Viewers will get to know Johnny, JustFab’s outrageous graphic designer; Alyson, our focused art director; Sandra, the Sr. VP of Marketing; Ashley, Public Relations Coordinator; Lianca, Sr. Marketing Manager; and Sarah, Project Coordinator. JustFab’s Co-CEO’s are also on the show regularly.
Aicube: What makes the show so popular with viewers?
JustFab: Well, the cast of characters, the real JustFab team, is full of big personalities. JustFab aims to one day become a head-to-toe retailer, so these people have a lot on their plates. That type of combination provides for some really fun television viewing.
Aicube: When and where can viewers catch Kimora: House of Fab?
JustFab: Kimora: House of Fab airs on the Style Network on Wednesdays at 9/8 PM Central.
