Diminished Erections and Weight

Adding weight can have a toll on your libido. In addition, with the bad eating habits we have acquired these days, being overweight has almost become acceptable in the society. You cannot walk a few blocks without meeting an obese or an overweight man. Being overweight has an effect on the blood vessels because more often than not, they are clogged with fat and this fat is what causes blood flow to go down.

When the blood vessels are clogged with fat, they become hard and they cannot dilate and relax as expected to facilitate the blood flow into the other parts of the body. In this case, we are talking about the penis. With clogged vessels, only a small amount of blood gets to these areas and this is not good for erection and maintaining it. You can use penile implants to be able to pump blood into the penile area and you can get and maintain an erection.

There is a very strong relationship between the testosterone hormone and body fat in men.  The production of testosterone is affected by the presence of fat in the body. A lot of fat reduces the production of testosterone in the body and this hormone that brings about sex drive and keeps the libido high. Weak erection or no erection at all is associated with low libido. Too much weight blocks the flow of blood in the body and in this case the pelvic area and hampers the production of some chemicals that are needed for erection and maintaining it.

Being overweight makes a person to be fatigued always and this is not for sexual libido. Even a small task makes you pant of breathlessness. You should change your diet to make sure that you are not gaining more weight and the one you already have is being shed little by little. Include a lot of veggies and fruits in your diet. These will help in unclogging your arteries and making sure that the fat you may have in your diet is broken down completely.

Make it a habit to eat 2 or 3 hours before you sleep and not later than that because after you sleep, your body is not able to digest and absorb the food that you took. They will be stored as fat in your body. Change your eating patterns to smaller portions instead of bigger portions. This will help in keeping metabolism active and thus burning of excessive fat in your body. A small change in your diet will be noticeable over a period.
