Rabbi Mendel Mintz is the head Rabbi at Aspen’s Chabad Jewish Community Center, an organization he and wife Lieba founded at the turn of the century to enhance the lives of the surrounding Jewish Community. As the Center’s lead spiritual advisor, Mendel Mintz is a well-known and revered member of the local Jewish Community. Mendel Mintz is a native New Yorker who moved to Colorado in 2000 with his wife, Lieba. Together, the two have five children and enjoy a large extended family through Chabad. Rabbi Mendel Mintz was ordained in 1996 by Chabad Yeshiva in Brooklyn and also by the Chief Chabad Rabbi in Israel. In addition to the Center, Rabbi Mendel Mintz also directs activities at the Center’s Ski to Live program, which offers financial and spiritual aid to disabled Israeli veterans and their families.
